Bearded Bros has been handling house removals in Brighton and across Sussex since 2013, with more than 10,000 homes moved in the last five years. Our team is about twenty trained removers, most of them with us for years. They load with care, drive carefully, and turn up when we say we will. Whether you are moving a one-bed flat in Hove, a four-bed family home in Lewes, or a household up to Edinburgh from a terrace near London Road, we have the right van, the right crew, and the right approach to do the job properly.

Most house moves go wrong for the same handful of reasons: a van that's too small, a crew that hasn't packed before, a quote that doesn't match the actual volume on moving day. We built the Bros to fix those problems first.
Every member of our crew is employed and trained by us. No day-rate agency labour, no faces you've never seen before. The team are, in their own customers' words, "polite, courteous, diligent and hardworking," and we have a long-tenured operations team led by founders Simon and Jonny who have been running the business hands-on since the start.
The result is a calmer, faster moving day. Furniture goes on the van the way it should. Boxes come off in the right rooms. The team work to your timings, not theirs.
We move households of every shape:
Single items and part-loads. One wardrobe, a bed, a sofa, a piece of inherited furniture from a relative's house. We do these as part-loads when it makes sense, so you are not paying for a full crew you don't need.
Studios, one-bed flats and small homes. A two-person crew and a Luton or 3.5-tonne van will usually do it in half a day, with packing materials supplied if you want to box up yourself.
Family homes. Three-, four- and five-bed houses, with a bigger crew and a 7.5- or 18-tonne truck. We can supply a full pack the day before, dismantle and reassemble furniture, and run the move over one or two days depending on volume.
Larger and more complex jobs. Listed buildings, awkward access, a long carry from the parking, narrow staircases. The team have packed and moved most of it before, including, on occasion, the things people warn us about. We're "Tetris gods" with a Luton, as one customer put it.
If your move sits outside the standard shape, like a partial move into storage, a renovation decant, or two collection addresses on the same day, tell us when you ask for a quote and we'll build the job around it.

A standard Bearded Bros house removal includes:
A trained, employed crew with the right number of people for the volume, usually two to four removers, scaled up for larger homes.
The right vehicle for the job, from a Luton through to an 18-tonne truck. We don't squeeze a four-bed move into a Luton to save money on paper and run over by four hours.
Furniture protection on the van, including blankets, straps, edge protectors, and shrink wrap on soft furnishings.
Furniture dismantle and reassemble at both ends, on request, included in the quoted price.
Goods-in-transit cover and full public liability, confirmed in writing on your quote.
Optional add-ons: a full professional pack the day before, packing materials delivered in advance, reusable plastic crate hire (a sustainable alternative to single-use cardboard), and a stop at our Brighton storage facility on the way through.
Quote. Send us your move details through the removals quote form, or send a short walk-through video. We'll come back to you within one working day with a fixed price.
Booking and prep. Once you accept the quote, we hold your date with a deposit. We'll talk through access, parking, and any items that need special handling.
Packing. Pack yourself with boxes from the Bros' box shop, or book us in for a full pack the day before move day.
Move day. The crew arrive at the agreed time, walk the property with you, and start loading. We protect floors and door frames, wrap soft furnishings, and keep an inventory of the larger items.
Delivery. Boxes go in the rooms you've labelled, beds and tables get rebuilt, and we don't leave until you've signed off.
Brighton is the home base. From there, we cover Hove, Lewes, Shoreham-by-Sea, Worthing, Eastbourne and the wider East and West Sussex area. We also run UK-wide moves to Edinburgh, Cornwall, the Lake District, or anywhere a customer is going, without subbing the job out.
If you want details specific to your town, see our house removals in Brighton page, or the location pages for Hove, Lewes, and Shoreham.

Our box shop sells boxes, bubble wrap, tape, mattress covers, and wardrobe boxes, all in stock and available for next-day collection or delivery in the Brighton area. If you'd rather not buy single-use cardboard, we hire out reusable plastic crates by the week.
For the prep itself, the rule of thumb is: pack early, label clearly, and keep the essentials box (kettle, mugs, tea, charger, kids' bedding) in the boot of your car, not in the van. We'll send you a short prep guide when you book, written by the team, not borrowed from the internet.
Sometimes the dates don't line up. Completion slips, the new place isn't ready, or you're decanting for a renovation. We run our own storage facility on Springfield Road in Brighton, with full or half containers and weekday and Saturday-morning access, plus a longer-term crated storage site in Newhaven for stays of months rather than days.
Most chain-gap stays are handled out of Springfield Road, where we can drop a load straight from the van into your container and pull it back out when you're ready. More on storage, or get a storage enquiry going and we'll quote both legs of the move together.
We're based in Brighton and our self-storage site is on Springfield Road, but our removals teams cover the whole of East Sussex and West Sussex on a daily basis. That includes Brighton, Hove, Lewes, Newhaven, Shoreham-by-Sea, Worthing, Eastbourne, Seaford, Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Crawley and the surrounding villages.
For longer-distance moves, we go UK-wide. Our trucks regularly run up to London, the Home Counties and the South West, and we've moved customers as far as Scotland. The storage stays in Brighton or Newhaven, but we'll deliver wherever you've ended up.
We cover all East Sussex and West Sussex area and we can move you anywhere in UK
