Bearded Bros will pack your whole house, help with the fragile boxes only, or just drop off the materials and let you get on with it. Most removals firms in Brighton offer one of those three options. We do all three, and the same crew who packs your boxes is the crew who carries them out the door on moving day.
Not every move needs the same level of help, so we don't sell it that way.
Full pack. The crew packs the entire house, room by room, the day before or the morning of your move. Kitchen, wardrobes, garage, the lot. You point, they wrap.
Part pack. Book us for the rooms that actually worry you, usually the kitchen and anything fragile or awkward, and box the rest yourself. A lot of Brighton customers land here: they're happy to pack a bedroom of clothes but don't want to be the one wrapping a stack of dinner plates at 11pm.
DIY with materials and advice. Buy or hire everything from our box shop and pack at your own pace. We'll tell you what to buy for your size of property and how to pack the tricky stuff properly, no upsell attached.
Whichever option you pick, it's the same team that turns up on move day, so nothing gets handed between companies or re-explained to a different crew.

If you'd rather not fill your car boot with flattened boxes for the tip afterwards, we hire out reusable plastic crates and wardrobe boxes as a sustainable alternative to single-use cardboard. They stack cleanly, they don't collapse under weight the way cardboard can by the third house move, and once you're unpacked, we collect them. Nobody else locally is offering this as standard.
Crate hire is popular with Brighton renters and anyone who moves every year or two, since there's no box mountain left behind at either end.

Honestly, it depends on what you're short of: time, or nerve.
Time. A full pack for an average two- or three-bed home takes a trained crew a matter of hours. Doing it solo around a full-time job usually means several evenings of wrapping plates after work, which is exactly when people rush and exactly when things get broken.
Protection. Our crew packs to the same standard every time, dish packs for crockery, bubble wrap and foam corners for mirrors and TVs, cell dividers for glassware, because they've seen what actually survives a house move and what doesn't. A rushed DIY pack at midnight before moving day is where most breakages happen, not on the van.
Liability. This is the part people don't ask about but should. If we pack your boxes, damage to the contents of those boxes is covered under our goods-in-transit and public liability cover, confirmed on your quote. If you pack your own boxes and something inside gets damaged in transit, that's typically excluded, because the crew never saw what went in or how. Fragile or valuable items you've packed yourself are usually the one thing standard removals cover won't touch.
So the honest answer: if the items are ordinary and you've got the evenings free, DIY is fine and we'll happily supply the materials. If you're short on time, or the boxes are full of things you'd hate to lose, a full or part pack is the safer call, and it's worth pricing against the cost of your own time.

The same trained, employed team who'd be moving you on the day, not a separate packing contractor. They bring dish packs, bubble wrap, packing paper, tape, wardrobe boxes and crates, whatever the job needs, rather than turning up short and making a box shop run.
The crew works through the property systematically, starting with the least-used rooms if it's the day before, or working room to room on the morning itself. Fragile items get wrapped individually; everything gets labelled by destination room as it's packed.
Wardrobes, beds and anything flagged in advance get taken apart, wrapped, and set aside ready for loading.
