We are Bearded Bros, a Sussex removals firm based off Springfield Road in Brighton, BN1 6DG. We have been handling removals in Southwick and along the Adur coastline since 2013, and our crew has completed over 10,000 moves in the last five years. The team is trained in-house, our vans and trucks are kept properly maintained, and most of our movers have been with us long enough to know which Southwick streets take a 7.5-tonner and which need a smaller van because of a low railway bridge or a tight Albion Street terrace.

Southwick has a particular shape to it. The railway line runs straight through the middle, the A259 carries the bulk of the through-traffic, and the older streets around Southwick Green and the conservation area sit cheek-by-jowl with the newer estates on the north side and the working warehouses to the south near the canal. Move days here usually mean planning around at least one of those things. We have done this often enough to know that loading on Manor Hall Road at school run time is a different job to loading at half nine when the level crossings are quiet.
We have been doing removals across Sussex for over a decade and the Southwick side of our diary has grown steadily because most of our customers come back, or send us their friends. What you get on the day: trained movers, blankets and straps for the furniture, sack barrows and dollies for the heavy items, and proper protection on banisters and door frames. Furniture is dismantled and reassembled at the other end if that is part of the quote. We do not arrive without protective floor runners. We do not turn up in a van that smells of last week's job.
If you would rather pack yourself, our box shop in Brighton stocks proper double-walled cartons, bubble wrap, tape, wardrobe boxes and furniture covers. We also hire out reusable plastic crates if you would prefer not to buy throwaway cardboard for a single move. Crates stack tighter, take a heavier load, and go back to us once the move is done.
If you want us to pack the house for you, that is a separate line on the quote and includes a full-pack with paper-wrap on glassware, professional protection on artwork, and a numbered inventory so nothing goes missing between front doors. Half-packs (you do clothes and books, we do kitchen and breakables) are the most common option for Southwick moves and usually save a chunk on the bill.
Completion days slip. Buyers pull out. New keys do not arrive on time. We run a self-storage facility at the Springfield Road depot in Brighton with full and half containers (150 sq ft or 75 sq ft), 24/7 CCTV and weekday plus Saturday-morning access. For longer-term storage, we have a crated facility in Newhaven where each crate holds 250 cubic feet and access is by appointment.
If your move splits across two days because the chain has shifted, your contents go straight from our truck into one of those storage units instead of sitting in a van overnight. The handling is included in the move quote, not bolted on as a panic charge.
