Bearded Bros has been running removals out of our Springfield Road depot in Brighton since 2013, with more than 10,000 moves on the books and crews working Hove most weeks of the year. BN3 covers Regency squares with stone steps, Victorian terraces with twisting staircases, 1930s semis up by Hove Park and family houses out in Aldrington, so the crew sizes the job to the building, not the postcode.
Most people start a Hove move ringing four or five firms and trying to compare answers that do not quite line up. We keep it short. No surveyor in your hallway unless the move genuinely needs one, no surprise extras on the day, and a quote you can read line by line. The crew load like Tetris gods, so a tight Brunswick stairwell or a long Aldrington carry comes out in the same shape it went in.
We have been moving Brighton and Hove families and businesses since 2013. The team is about twenty trained removers, employed by us, most of them with us for years. Customers in their own words call them "polite, courteous, diligent and hardworking." Founders Simon and Jonny still run the business hands-on, and Tom has been Operations Manager since 2014, which is a longer crew tenure than you usually find in this trade.
For Hove customers that matters in two ways. The first is that the same lead crew you spoke to on the quote call is the one turning up on moving day, not a face from an agency van. The second is that we run our own self-storage on Springfield Road in Brighton and longer-term crated storage at our Newhaven facility, so when a Hove move involves a completion gap, a renovation or a downsize, we can handle the full chain in-house rather than passing you on to a third party.
A move in BN3 is rarely a single problem. The Regency squares around Brunswick and Adelaide are mostly Grade II flats with stone front steps, narrow halls and no lift. The late-Victorian terraces in Poets Corner have tight staircases that turn twice on the way up. The 1930s semis in West Hove and the family houses out in Aldrington are easier on the legs but often involve a long carry from the parking spot to the front door. We plan the crew size and the vehicle around the building, not the postcode. A loft conversion in BN3 5 is not the same job as a ground-floor flat off Western Road, and the quote should reflect that.
If you are moving the other way, into Hove from elsewhere in the UK, the same crew handles the whole journey. We do not subcontract the long-distance leg.
If packing is the part you would rather not think about, our team will do it for you, room by room, with proper paper, double-walled boxes and labels that match the new floor plan. If you would rather pack yourself, the Bearded Bros box shop sells everything you need, including reusable plastic crates and wardrobe boxes you can hire instead of buy. The reusable option works well in Hove flats where storage at the new address is tight and there is nowhere sensible to break down a stack of cardboard once you have unpacked.
Hove completion dates slip. A buyer pulls out, a chain stalls, the new place needs a week of plastering before the sofa can go in. Our Springfield Road site in Brighton holds full or half containers (150 sq ft or 75 sq ft) with 24/7 CCTV, weekday access and Saturday morning access. Our Newhaven facility holds longer-term crated storage at 250 cu ft per crate. If your move turns into a two-stage move, we will collect, store and redeliver on a date you set, with the same paperwork and the same crew you started with.
The flow is the same on every job. You send us photos, a video walk-through or a rough inventory and your two postcodes. We come back with a written quote naming the crew, the vehicle and the inclusions. We agree a date and take a deposit to hold it. On move day the crew arrives at the agreed time, runs the load in the order that fits the route, drives, unloads in the order you asked for at the new address, and reassembles anything we took apart on the way out. You sign off, we leave, you get your evening back

We work the BN3 postcode every week, with regular runs to Aldrington, West Hove, the Hove Station area, Brunswick and Adelaide, Poets Corner, Hove Park, and the Boundary and Seven Dials edge into central Brighton. Just along the coast we run removals in Brighton, Portslade, Southwick, and Shoreham-by-Sea. The A259 seafront and the A270 Old Shoreham Road are the two routes our crews use most days, so timing around school-run windows and seafront parking suspensions is part of how we plan the day.
We're based in Brighton and our self-storage site is on Springfield Road, but our removals teams cover the whole of East Sussex and West Sussex on a daily basis. That includes Brighton, Hove, Lewes, Newhaven, Shoreham-by-Sea, Worthing, Eastbourne, Seaford, Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Crawley and the surrounding villages.
For longer-distance moves, we go UK-wide. Our trucks regularly run up to London, the Home Counties and the South West, and we've moved customers as far as Scotland. The storage stays in Brighton or Newhaven, but we'll deliver wherever you've ended up.
