Packing is usually the part of a house move that takes the longest and causes the most last-minute stress. Bearded Bros has offered professional packing services across West Sussex since 2013, working alongside our Brighton-based removal crews to pack, protect and load your belongings on the same day. BAR accredited and Move Assured, we handle everything from a full four-bed pack to a single box of fragile items that need professional wrapping.
Packing services vary widely between removals companies. Here is exactly what ours covers.
A full packing service means our team arrives at your property the day before or on move morning, packs every room to a labelled plan, wraps fragile items in tissue, bubble wrap and foam, uses wardrobe boxes for hanging clothes, and loads everything directly into the van. You arrive at the new property and every box tells you which room it belongs in.
A part-packing service covers specific rooms or item types. Most customers choose this when they want to pack their own clothes and everyday items but want the team to handle the kitchen, the breakables or the loft. We agree the scope at the quote stage.
Fragile-only packing is exactly that: glasses, crockery, artwork, mirrors and anything that would not survive a standard cardboard box and a journey on the A27. We wrap each item individually, box them with professional packing paper, and label the boxes for careful handling.
Packing materials are provided: boxes, tape, bubble wrap, packing paper, fragile labels and wardrobe boxes. We do not charge separately for materials on a full or part pack; they are quoted as a single line. If you need somewhere to keep boxed items before completion, our storage service can bridge the gap.
| Service type | What we pack | Materials included | Typical timing |

Bearded Bros joined the British Association of Removers (BAR) in mid-2026. BAR membership is worth understanding if you are comparing packing companies in West Sussex, because it is not a badge you buy. It requires an independently audited quality standard, a Trading Standards approved Code of Practice (CTSI), and access to the BAR Advance Payment Guarantee, which protects deposits if a company fails before your move day.
We are also Move Assured and members of the Self Storage Association UK (SSA UK).
For a full move with professional packing, those accreditations matter. You are trusting a crew with everything you own for an entire day. Knowing the company is independently audited changes the risk calculation.

1. Quote: Tell us your property size, move date, and whether you want full, part or fragile-only packing. We return a written quote, usually within a day. Video survey available if an in-person visit is inconvenient.
2. Materials delivery (optional): For larger packs, we can drop boxes, tape and paper to you a few days early so you can make a start on books and non-fragile items if you prefer.
3. Pack day: The crew arrives at the agreed time. We work room by room to a labelled plan, wrap fragile items individually, and prepare wardrobes using hanging boxes.
4. Load: Everything goes directly into the van from the pack. Nothing is left in an intermediate pile in the hallway.
5. Delivery and unpack: At the new property, boxes go into the correct room based on the labelling. Unpacking is available on request and quoted separately.
Our packing crews work from our Brighton base across West Sussex and into East Sussex. The towns we cover most regularly include Worthing, Shoreham-by-Sea, Southwick, Portslade, and further west on request. For a move originating in West Sussex that is heading further afield across the UK, our crews handle that too.
If you are unsure whether your postcode is in our range, and we will confirm on the same call.
The physical process of packing a house and packing an office differs enough that it is worth covering both.
For a house move, the priority is protection and labelled organisation so the unpack at the new property is quick. Fragile items need individual wrapping. Wardrobes need hanging boxes. Children's rooms and home offices need labelling that separates equipment from general storage.
For a commercial or office move, the priority is speed and minimal disruption to trading. We pack to a desk or department plan, label equipment clearly, and coordinate with IT if disconnection and reconnection of hardware is in scope. Our commercial packing service covers small offices through to larger business relocations across West Sussex.
For either move type, the crew size and vehicle configuration is confirmed at the quote stage, not decided on the day.

For a full packing job on a standard family home in West Sussex, two to three weeks notice is comfortable. Completion dates in East and West Sussex can move at short notice, so call us as soon as you have a working move date and we will hold the slot. For fragile-only packing added to an existing removal booking, a week is usually enough.
Either works. For a large property, many customers choose a pack day the day before move day, so the crew arrives on move morning to a property that is already boxed and ready to load. For smaller flats or part-packs, we can pack and load on the same day. We agree the split at the quote stage based on your property size and move complexity.
All moves travel under goods-in-transit cover as standard. If an item packed by our crew is damaged on the move, raise it with us before the crew leaves the delivery property and we will document it. As a BAR member, we also follow the BAR Code of Practice, so if we cannot resolve a complaint directly, you have a clear route to take it further.
Yes. A mixed approach is common: customers pack their own clothes, books and everyday items, and we handle the kitchen, fragile items and anything that needs specialist wrapping. Tell us at the quote stage what you have already packed and what you want us to cover, and we will price accordingly.
